Jona grew up in a family that loved animals and nurtured her desire to have them as constant companions. Whether it was dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters or fish it didn't matter, all were welcomed! Fast forward to today and not much has changed as her home includes a constant menagerie of rehomed and unwanted animals. A move to Warfordsburg, PA in 2006 allowed her to expand her family to include horses and chickens, along with her dogs and cats.
It was through the loss of two of her dogs in the spring of 2016 that drew Jona to For Otis Sake and their rescue efforts. Jona adopted two dogs from FOS (Cooper and Georgie), then began volunteering at various events and assisting with volunteer recruitment. Jona is passionate about animal rescue work and highly motivated. Her efforts help For Otis Sake maintain their mission of saving dogs in need by managing our fundraising efforts.
Jona enjoys the country-life on 20 acres with her husband Paul, 2 dogs, 3 cats, 2 horses and 16 chickens. She works full-time for Washington County Public Schools as the Supervisor for Instructional Technology and Library Media Programs.
